As promised, today the board had its 14 day review of whether or not to keep our Port de Mer beach closed. We decided to keep the beach closed and to review the matter again in another 14 days.
The county and state have gotten more restrictive, not less restrictive, since we closed our beach two weeks ago. When we closed our beach, only certain counties had a shelter-in-place order. Now the whole state is under a shelter-in-place order. Effective two days ago, Broward County added a mask requirement, which Palm Beach County made effective today. It doesn’t make sense for us to be less restrictive when government entities are enacting more Covid-19 restrictions.
As Covid-19 case and death statistics have been getting worse and worse, more and more Port de Mer homeowners have been expressing a desire to keep our common areas and recreational areas closed.
Our objective is to keep our residents healthy! Thank you for your understanding and compliance!
